Cost and Management Accounting (CMA) is offered by The Institute of Cost Accountants (ICAI). Earlier, the CMA course was known as CWA. CWA full form was Cost and Works Accounting. The course administering body in India was the same back then, however, ICAI was formerly known as the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI).

CMA course is offered and managed by the Institutes of Cost Accounts of India. CMA course consist of three levels- Foundation, Intermediate and Final. The duration of the course is 3 years, including practical training. This course is designed to teach finance, accounting, law, management, etc.
CMA Foundation
Students who have passed 10 th and +2 are eligible for the CMA Foundation. CMA exams are conducted two times a year in the months of June and December. If you have any graduate degree, then you are exempted from ICMAI Foundation exams.
CMA Intermediate
A candidate should have passed ( 10+2) and Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or Graduation in any discipline other than fine arts or Qualified in ICSI Foundation or ICAI Intermediate. It is mandatory to complete Communication and Soft Skill ( CSS) Training for 3 days and Complete Computer Training for 100 hours before appearing the exam.
